A Surprise Sunrise Proposal in Downtown Charlotte
/There's something really special about connecting with other members of this industry, who value what we do above money. Such was the case when Jess and Kim of Party of Two Photography sent their friend Harrison my way to capture his proposal to his girlfriend (now fiance') Suzanne.
Kim and Jess wouldn't be available for this special moment, but since the three of us stay well connected and often rely on each other for feedback, support and advice in our industry, they felt confident to put their friends' moments in my hands. For that I am grateful!
Harrison called me to discuss his idea to propose to his girlfriend...who he just KNEW was the one. He was super excited and I could hear it in his voice. We came up with a couple ideas, but it wasn't until the last minute that we decided to change EVERYTHING to ensure that Suzanne would be totally surprised.
He was hesitant to ask me to wake up super early in the morning...but I am always down for some sunrise action!! Anyone who knows me well knows two things about me...I get my best sleep between 2-5pm, and that's usually because I naturally wake up with the sun...so I take naps. And I will ALWAYS wake up for the sunrise because it's something I truly cherish. Even though it happens every day. So when Harrison brought up the idea of making this happen on their morning walk, I was thrilled! Suzanne wouldn't be expecting this at all!
I brought along a "decoy" and pretended to take photos of the skyline and an "athlete" until Harrison and Suzanne arrived at our previously designated spot. He suggested the stop for a selfie and that's when I moved into action, capturing EVERY single moment that happened after that. Check it out!!
PS...let me tell you my absolute favorite thing about this. Neither one of them cared that it was 6:45 in the morning and they were in workout clothes. This is TRUE emotion and love ya'll. Moments are perfect just the way they are. You are perfect just the way YOU are.
