Read MoreLast week, I had the absolute pleasure of touring the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. What an amazing experience!! I love old things. There's something about knowing there were other souls attached to these places and things...it just gives me chills.
I rarely bring a camera with me when I travel anymore, especially since iphones can take some amazing photos, and they are so much smaller and less obtrusive, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get some amazing photos, so I decided to bring an old camera with me. I haven't used this camera since my trip to Cali last April, so I wasn't even sure it would work well...but I got some great photos.
This place is legit ya'll. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it. If you'd like to schedule your engagement session there, just let me know! It can be done!
Enjoy!
First, Critsey and I stopped for lunch. We didn't need to stop for coffee because she brought me a delicious cappuccino from home. Lunch was a delicious market vegetable soup and Irish bread with a cheese plate accompanied with crackers and a delicious beer jam! Definitely try this place! Cedric's Tavern
We walked by a small animal area...a couple goats, pigs and chickens. I couldn't help but snap a photo of this guy.
Next we headed to do one of my favorite things! Taste wine! I've been drinking Biltmore wine for years and years. My dad often gifts me a bottle, especially after he's visited the property. But boy was I pleasantly surprised to find out the wine tasting comes complimentary with your ticket. Gimme all the good sips of wine before I stroll! That's my kinda tour!
After tasting some delicious wine, we headed on over to the house. Critsey is a Biltmore pro, and she knew exactly where to park so we could walk over and get the absolute best view. I'm so glad I was with her because I wouldn't have known where to go! The entire property is massive!!
Lots of places in the house are roped off, so you've got to view from afar. But the view of everything is just amazing! My camera could barely do it justice, that's for sure!
Also, there happened to be a Titanic display while we were there, so we got to learn a bit about the design of the times.
My absolute favorite room! The library. I was seriously reminded of Beauty and the Beast and I probably could have spent all day in here. I only wish I had the ability to read some of the books. I'm so interested in all these books...especially being sooo old. It's like my life goal to obtain them now.
Onto the second floor...I think? It's practically a maze with all these rooms. And ropes.
Onto the basement...which was super cool! It was also super dark and my super old camera could barely keep up...but I still got some pretty cool photos!
Onto the outside...heading towards the gardens and oh boy am I super excited at this point! You'll soon see why! #ilovenature
If you made it this far...then bonus!! Here's a couple snapshots of me enjoying the property!
