Uptown Charlotte NYE Engagement Session at the Epicenter

Maisha and I used to slang drinks together believe it or not. We met while bartending in a nightclub. Before long we were managing the bar together and a lifelong friendship was formed.

It’s been years since I’ve been behind a bar and years since I had seen Maisha’s face but time doesn’t stop us from calling each other MY…as in My Maisha and My Amanda. I guess I can’t keep that up now because Maisha isn’t mine anymore, she totally belongs to Shaq now.

I’m ok giving her up to him though…after our engagement session it was clear how in love with her he is. He adores her you guys. I mean, completely. His face lights up just watching her. He finds all her silly antics to be adorable. He appreciates her strength. He waits for her. He carries things for her. He protects her. So I feel like I can go ahead and let her marry him ;)

Shaq is still living in Connecticut (where Maisha is from) and was in town for the holidays so we made due with the rainy, cold weather and opted for an indoor session at the Epicenter in Downtown Charlotte. We were allowed the top bar space in Studio Movie Grill and although it was completely out of my norm (and almost pitch black), we made some really amazing images. I’m sharing my favs below!
