Jacksonville, Florida Wedding
/This story still moves me...months later.
Last fall, one of the most amazing ladies in the photography industry, Critsey of Critsey Rowe Photography linked me up with an amazing woman named Lauren. Lauren and her (now) hubby Michael are both U.S. Soldiers living in Florida. They had a lovely September wedding scheduled...on the 16th, Michael's grandparents 50th anniversary. Michael's grandparents play an important role in their lives and relationship and the two lovebirds wanted to honor them with this day.
Weather had other plans. Hurricane Irma came through and ripped those wedding dreams right up. The couple lost their dream wedding and then got deployed for disaster relief because of the same hurricane that stole their wedding day. Did these selfless individuals get down about it or let it stop them? Goodness no! In spite of deposits lost and a lack of available vendors, Lauren put together another wedding, just a couple months later.
When I heard about their story, I was touched. And I wanted to help. So with the assistance of Critsey for travel help and a hotel paid for by the bride, I drove down to Jacksonville and captured their special day. It was utterly beautiful and touching. There was a first kiss before there was even a word spoken. There was a huge, incredibly long lasting cheer from a crowd in a neighboring resort. There were tears and laughs and some of the most moving moments I've ever witnessed.
I'm honored to have been able to provide them something they can cherish for a lifetime. Lauren and Michael, thank you both for your service. And congratulations on finally being able to be Mr. and Mrs. in spite of all your obstacles. You two rock!
Thanks a ton to the following vendors who helped make Lauren and Michael's special day possible!
